yes i do agree that the vampires in 'woman' Stephenie Meyers is a little twisted, like 'she spoiled the whole spine-chilling(to those who fear vamps)/ cool (to those who admire the vamps for who they 'usually' are) image of what vampires really are.
According to the article,
1.Vampires do not yearn and when he wants a girl he transforms into a bat, flies over there, bites her and she's his.
2. Vampires are nocturnal creatures. When sunlight touches their skin, they burn and slowly start to disintegrate or sth close to tt
3. It is common knowledge that vampires do not sleep. They sleep in coffins in the basement of spooky castles. They do not lounge around multi-million-dollar designer homes listening to an extensive CD collection.
4. Vampires wear a black cape, not a trendy sweater-pants ensemble.
no doubt, there's no denial abt that.
but then again Twilight is yet another fictional story, in fact a DREAM of meyers tt she was so intrigued by that she had to write it down. Its all stated on her website btw. What i feel is, if all authors think like jeremy, there will be no story, i mean a great story, one tt attracts, is the fruit of a great imagination isnt it, it doesnt have to be the norm, it doesnt have to follow the conventional.. The fact that Twilight has won the hearts of many readers and moviegoers alike, goes to show that Meyers was successful, she has shared her dream(though the vampire in it isnt quite a vampire..)with millions and most have given the thumbs up. Besides, the target audience of Twilight is obviously targeting young adults and children, of course, women especially. If the story is according to the standards and expectations of jeremy, twilight will be just another Dracula.
ok enough abt twilight, personally i prefer vampires written by Anne rice and those in Underworld, Twilight and Van Helsing, u know, those tt dun go around sucking the blood out of humans like some ravaged beasts. Vampires that have some form of intelligence, otherwise speaking.
